Our Story

Milagros Day Worldwide was founded and created by Breakthrough Strategist Dawn Diaz, in 2009, who was working as a Paramedic Captain in the New York City Fire Department.
Milagros Day Worldwide empowers survivors of Domestic Violence and Childhood Trauma with healing leadership coaching, mentorship, and a commitment to Turning Abuse Into Success. We aim to shift the victim paradigm through sisterhood and transformational interventions; focusing on passion and purpose to create spiritual and financial abundance with professional training in Public Speaking, Media Relations, and Event Production.
Diaz, a third generation survivor of domestic violence, grew up witnessing her mother Carmen Milagros, being brutally beaten by her stepfather on a daily basis. After over a decade of abuse, Dawn's mother found the courage to leave that situation, only to be tragically killed in a car accident six months later. At the age of 14, Dawn and her three younger brothers were orphaned and placed into the foster care system.
After traversing a very long, painful and rewarding journey of self-discovery and healing, Dawn Diaz was able to find purpose in helping others to heal from Domestic Violence and Childhood Trauma; building a multi-tiered community of sisterhood, empowerment, and leadership coaching.
During the first ten years, the organization has been run solely by volunteers, who are also Milagros Day graduates and continues to expand through its tagline of Turning Abuse Into Success. The work of Milagros Day Worldwide has been covered by local and national media outlets, and featured in several short documentary films.
New and exciting projects on the horizon for Milagros Day Worldwide including the Healing Voices Speakers Bureau and our very own Milagros Events Venue!
